Glacier View Lodge - A Vision of the Future
The vision of the Glacier View Lodge (GVL) Society is to provide "caring innovative community responsive to the complex needs of our diverse population" and is in keeping with the original 1946 initiative of the Women's Institute of Northern Vancouver Island to establish a "Home for Senior Citizens in the Comox Valley".
As we look to the future, and based on the needs of the Community as determined by the Island Health, the GVL Society will focus its efforts and resources on the provision of residential and community services for the elderly while also continuing to be a centre of excellence for residents and clients who suffer from moderate to severe dementia.
Our overall plan and approach is presented in the GVL Strategic Plan wherein major objectives or future goals are identified, namely:
